Excellence Awards

Excellence in internal assessment rewarded
At the assembly on Tuesday 28 October, students who have gained an excellence grade in an internal assessment were given a certificate to mark the event.

Senior PrizegivingThursday 6 November at 1 pm in the assembly hall.

All senior students are expected to attend this event. Parents and caregivers are cordially invited to join us for this occasion where we celebrate the success of our senior students. We ask that you are seated by 12.50 pm for a prompt start. Senior students are reminded that correct uniform is expected. Afternoon tea, in the stadium, will follow the prizegiving.

The prizegiving is a celebration of achievement and is a formal occasion where we expect a high standard of dress from the students. Please assist in ensuring your child is dressed in correct school uniform, including shoes, and that their appearance is tidy.

Junior students (Y9 & 10) will not be required at school on senior prizegiving day unless they are in the choir, Kapa Haka or have been asked to attend as an usher or server.

Teacher Only Day / Senior Assessment Week

This Friday, 31 May, is a professional development day for the staff of Stratford High School. This day is allocated by the Ministry of Education for staff to work on NCEA alignment. School will be closed for classes.

A reminder that Monday is Queen’s Birthday holiday and the school will be closed. School resumes on Tuesday 4th June and it will be Day 6 on the school timetable.

Senior Assessment Week

Next week, Tuesday 4th June to Friday 7th June is our first senior assessment week. Exams are of one hour duration. Some subjects will have two exams, while others will have one exam. Some subjects will have no exam.
There is NO study leave for any student – normal classes will continue to run for all senior classes. All senior students will be issued with a copy of the exam timetable and exam conditions at the Deans Assembly on Thursday.

High School Corner - Prizegiving

Senior Prizegiving

The senior prizegiving on Tuesday afternoon was well attended by the SHS community. The school Kapa Haka and choir entertained the parents and students during the ceremony. Congratulations to all students who received awards, the full list will be in Peak magazine while others will be published in the paper.
The junior prizegiving will be on Friday 2nd December and all parents and caregivers are invited to attend this graduation ceremony for all junior students.

Good luck to all students who will be sitting NCEA examinations which start on Thursday 10th November. Seniors are reminded that there will be two book return days Thursday 1st December and Friday 9th December. All books and other school materials (including sports uniforms) are to be returned to the library. Any senior uniform items that are no longer wanted may be dropped in on these days in a clean, sealable condition. A price and seller’s details are needed. The second-hand uniform sale is on Thursday 26th January in the school hall and is a fundraiser for the SHS Australian rugby tour team.
