Te Reo Week

Ngā Whakataukī me Ngā Pānui:

Te Reo Language week is being celebrated at Stratford High School this week. Students have the opportunity to enter a competition each day via the daily notices and classes have been given a sheet with a proverb / saying about kai to discuss each day.
Kapa Haka will be performing in the canteen on Thursday at interval.
Rāhina:
Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora te iwi
With your food basket and my food basket, the people will be well cared for

Rātū:
Waiho mā te tangata e mihi
Let others praise you
Rāapa:
Ko te kai rapu, ko ia te kite
He who seeks will find
Rāpare:
He paua kainga tahi, auahi te kakara
The paua may be eaten in one mouthful, but the odour remains
Rāmere:
Kāore te kumara e korero mo tona reka
The kumara does not say how sweet it is
