MoE Recognises Language Student
Melissa Watts has gained a Ministry of Education Language Immersion Award. Melissa was one of 15 students from all over NZ over all languages to be honoured. The award has a value of $11250 which will pay for her costs for spending six months overseas in a French speaking country (her chosen language). Melissa has chosen France, Belgium or Canada as her preferred destination for the six months of the award. The application process was online with Melissa having to supply 4 references, NCEA results and her personal writing. She was then selected for an interview in New Plymouth by representatives from the MoE. After a month she received a letter to say that she was one of the 15 recipients for 2011.
